The sign at the Freelton Lions Villa, the result of one of the Freelton Lions' community projects!
The Freelton Lions Club is a group of local men and women who work to support our community in the beautiful village of Freelton. Many of us have lived here all of our lives, and care deeply for the community and its welfare. We hope to improve the lives of the people who live here, and provide help when help is needed.
The Freelton Lions Club holds fundraisers multiple times per year to support community projects, such as the construction of an Ice Pad at the Freelton Community Park. We also provide financial support to local charities, including the Flamborough Food Bank and the Flamborough Women's Resource Centre.
The Freelton Lions Club has been long-time supporters of Freelton Minor Ball and other youth initiatives in Flamborough. In 2021, we announced a post secondary scholarship to support youth who volunteer in the community.
One of the very first projects taken on by the Freelton Lions Club was the construction of the Freelton Lions Villa from the old schoolhouse, a geared-to-income seniors' home that allows older members of our community to live independently in Freelton. The club has continued to support many projects over the years which support the residents of the Freelton Lions Villa.
Our club pin celebrates the unique cultural history of Freelton, the nature resort capital of the world.
Freelton was home to the "Miss Nude World" competition, which took place at the Four Seasons Family Nudist Resort. Naturists from all around the world came to Freelton to compete, and our little hamlet received international news coverage!
The naturist resorts hold a special place in the hearts of our membership, and our club appreciates the naturist lifestyle that has made Freelton such a unique destination. Despite the strange looks and sideways glances our pin sometimes receives, we are proud to wear it!
